Project MFG is holding a Youth Welding Challenge at Weld Like a Girl in Yuma, Arizona! This event is for local home-schooled students to learn more about welding and the many career options available in the skilled trades. In the competition, students will learn how to read blueprints, different metal cutting techniques, and welding instruction to produce a group project. These projects will be auctioned off to raise money to for a local charity in Yuma, AZ. Last year’s event was such a success we sold out in hours. This year we are opening a second day in order to accommodate more students. Please choose which day best fits your schedule! Registration REQUIRED! Choose JANUARY 14 or 15… all day… lunch provided.
In addition to the Youth Welding Challenge, ALL area homeschool families (Yuma, La Paz & Imperial Counties) are invited to participate in our “Career Discovery Day” where local industry experts will demonstrate the importance of trade skills and talk about possible career options within the Yuma community (and beyond). These FREE events are offered on both January 14 and 15 in the afternoon. Registration encouraged but not required.
