While the name implies welding, our roots are actually in blacksmithing. Nowadays, we have instructors young and older assisting with our fire and forging classes. This particular class is inspired by our youngest intern who *loves* to hammer metal. We will introduce basic blacksmithing techniques that utilize a power hammer, then attempt some of the basics of Damascus-type steel designs. We can’t guarantee you will get a gorgeous billet as seen in Forged in Fire, but we can promise you will have a blast heating, hammering and forging various patterns in solid metal. (Most likely pretty things will result.)
Please wear jeans and closed-toe shoes to this event. We provide all necessary safety gear (safety glasses, arm covers, hearing protection, etc.) as well as any required tools.
