From prickly pear to beavertail… your opuntia is our objective. With our assistance, create a pokey cactus masterpiece approximately 2′ tall, with or without horseshoe nails. Desert rats, winter visitors, Dunes dogs, botanists, metal junkies and all other cactus lovers are welcome.
First, learn the basics about welding safety, GMAW (MIG welding) and power tools such as a chop saw and/or angle grinder. (Demonstrations and practice time are provided.) Second, select five horseshoes that make you happy. Next, cut/modify horseshoes to create the shape of the cactus. Also, choose prickly pear shapes and horseshoe nail spines. Finally, weld everything together!
Note: some of our horseshoes are genuine, bonafide Cowboy Old West horseshoes. This means they may include rust, some nails and possibly petrified (odorless) manure. Other shoes are new. We will give you the greatest selection available at the time of this class.
