Join us for a short introduction to welding to create a small butterfly (your choice of garden stake or magnet). Super cute (and quick) introduction to the mysterious world of welding. This is a very basic class that typically takes about one hour.

We will be using GMAW, otherwise known as Gas Metal Arc Welding. This is a wire welding process commonly known as MIG (metal inert gas) and is relatively simple to learn.

Fun Facts:

  • There are no open flames or flammable gases associated with this welding process. It is considered the safest form of welding.
  •  This project is short and sweet: you will be introduced to GMAW, practice for a few minutes and then build a butterfly you will take home.
  • Weld Like A Girl provides all necessary safety gear (welding jacket, helmet, leather gloves, etc.) for this experience.
  • Please wear jeans without holes that completely cover your ankles. (No capris, please.) It is not safe to weld in shorts, sandals or other apparel that exposes your skin.

Cost for this class is $20 and includes all necessary class materials along with the use of all necessary safety equipment.
